O God, stamp eternity on my eyeballs…

The Roar of Battle

I recently tweeted “True Religion lays not men to sleep, though it be the only way to rest – its only response is for men run to the roar of battle!”

This is a true Christian – one on his knees and alternately on his feet. A man who stays long on his knees needs only to rise to his feet and find quick victory but the point is to rise and go into battle.

Just recently our Brigade’s deployment to Afghanistan was called off and as i was ready and willing to go, i found myself relieved and thankful that God had seen fit to keep me here. During the few days following news of the mission being cancelled, i believe the Lord spoke to me these words: “you are not going to a physical war of men’s contrivances – you are going to My war.”

And then, Lamentations 2:18-19
Verse 18

Their heart cried unto the Lord, O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night; give thyself no rest; let not the apple of thine eye cease.

Verse 19

Arise
Cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches
pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord
Lift up thy hands toward Him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.

This sounds like marching orders to me…

This is akin to what I heard Brother Les Riley, founder of Personhood Mississippi, say when they were working so hard to see the voters of their state approve an amendment to their constitution. He said “Duty is ours. The Results are up to God.”
    So true.
Keep praying, standing, working, fighting in the spirit and trusting God.
I thank God for men of God like you who serve not only in the US Army but who also walk the walk their familes and on the streets of where God has planted them.
