O God, stamp eternity on my eyeballs…

The Lord is Good always and we are having a Son!

Praise the Lord! I received an email from the gentlemen below right after the doctor visit revealed a boy in my wife’s womb.

Subject: Rejoice with us! He has made us glad!

Through much travail we enter the kingdom (Acts 14:22).

There is great rejoicing when a child is born into the world, but especially when that child is born into a precious and elect family. "Why did He make the two one? That He might seek a godly seed!" (Mal 2:15). And so it is, and so it was this day.Known and loved before time, but necessarily actualized in time by the righteous ‘rules of the race’, our Anna Joy was baptized this night in the name of Jesus with an heart of urgent insistence that it not be delayed. Forgive me if my words are not few enough, but we are beside ourselves with jubilation.

It is equitably a time of rejoicing for us this morning as the doctor visit revealed we will be having a third boy in November. The scripture reference of Malachi 2:15 was so fitting as I read it and was humbled at the work of God in my families midst.

"Has not [the LORD] made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.(NIV)"

We are undeserving of His mercy. God still justifies the ungodly. Oh may the nations praise Him starting with my family!

Praise the Lord that He still does a mighty work in His people in His timing and His way. Both the physical birth and the new birth reveal His majesty and Sovereignty. Wow, what a picture of God’s ultimate redemption. That babies are born into this sin tainted and darkened world, themselves to feel the taint, experience the defilement, and the death and by God’s grace, to be redeemed and restored to new life in Christ – the full cycle of God’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes!
Enjoy the video of the first glimpse of our boy in the womb. From our doctor’s mouth this morning: "This baby looks OK" only affirms that God does all things well and that life has begun when He spoke it in the beginning!
